Hiding Place

Do you remember the famous game of Hide and Go Seek? How I used to love to play that as a little girl with my brother. I would hide in the Best places (at least I thought they were) and he was challenged to find me. My little brother would count and call my name to see if I would respond… “Cristina, where are you?”

As adults this game changes just a bit, we find ourselves running and hiding from our situations that arise in life? And praying no one finds us. We want to run because the day is too difficult, the issues are too much to bear, things aren’t going as they planned. The weight is too heavy; the burden is too much to bear. Can you relate? I sure can! Every person gets to this point, the point where they want to just run and hide from their situations. David hid in the cave of Adullam (1 Samuel 22) and he was a great warrior! David knew and depended on God’s direction in everything that he did. And yet he still ran.  Do we depend on Jesus when things are not going the way WE want them to go?

Psalm 55:22 Cast your burden on the Lord,
And He shall sustain you;
He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.

All of my fears, I lay them at your feet Lord. I must remember that there is a time to run and a time to Hide. Hiding in HIS presence is the best feeling ever. But running from it is not.

Psalm 32:7 “You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with shouts of deliverance. Selah”

The Lord wants to tell you “I am your Hiding place. Do not carry this burden any longer, just surrender it unto me and I will give you discernment for your next move!”

He is still calling… “Cristina where are you?”

Stick with me for the next blog on Selah.  – Lioness

  1. Wow!! I can relate to this and the more you hide. The harder he calls your name. Amen.
